Carillon Forest board meeting
Gabriel Liberty, Nick Burton, Eric Ferreri all present
Item 1 - New Architectural Review committee
We're looking for volunteers for our new architectural review committee. We have at least one person interested so far and we hope to have five members. We'll send an email soliciting volunteers.
----
Robert Wade, 406 Harkness, indicated interest in serving as HOA treasurer. He's an accountant. The HOA board is supposed to have at least 4 members but until now, we hadn't had enough volunteers. His role will be to review financial statements supplied by DR Horton. Welcome aboard, Robert.
------
The HOA will pursue re-planting some bushes on both ends of the trail-like pathway connecting Harkness Circle and Albritton to act as a barrier and discourage people from walking back there, since it supposed to be a walkway.
A homeowner at 104 Harkness wants an easement area behind his house to be mowed as well. The HOA will have it maintained.
A reminder - Dogs should be on leashes.

Danny's Lawn Care
Questions from residents:
He mows, aerates, fertilizes, chemical treatments. Same service Sweetwater was providing. He's responsible for everything. If we request something outside stipulations, he'd have to be paid extra.
How to improve common areas: In November, when aerating and over-seeding, Danny will put down topsoil. He expects dramatic results, particularly if we repeat the cycle the next year.
Albritton lawn isn't irrigated, so it's been difficult to grow grass. We may use a different grass there that's more drought-tolerant. That won't happen until October or November, at the start of the next planting cycle. DR Horton will pay for that.
A resident spoke of the common area wedged between Katie, Alman and Harkness. There's overgrowth and silt fences there. Should it be maintained? Is the drainage working properly? A consultant who inspected it recommended removing silt fences, mow the area.
DR Horton still maintains that area and Brian with DR Horton has pledged to take care of it. We will clarify with Brian to determine which parts of the property are DR Horton's responsibility.
The social committee's budget was approved without discussion.
The HOA has purchased, for neighborhood use, a screen and projector for social events. We've already had one community movie night near the playground. It will be stored by someone on social committee, who will manage the usage. Cost was $900 for screen/projector/DVD/speaker system with a 12-foot screen. Money came from social committee budget.
The next board meeting will be in September or October.
